Staying healthy is not only a good idea, it can save you money in the long on insurance and long-term care. Just changing simple things in your daily routine, like walking up steps instead of using elevators, taking a walk during lunch, and eating more vegetables and fruits can make a big difference in your health.

Mission

Taking Steps to Make Philadelphia Healthier

The goal of this website is to provide information on healthy living with the goal of reducing:

  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Asthma

 

The site addresses three related risk factors:

  • Physical inactivity
  • Poor nutrition
  • Tobacco use

 

This site is provided free of charge to the community of Philadelphia as a privately funded public service. We are also working closely with Tanasbourne Family Dental, a Beaverton dentist in our Oregon sister city. Most people don’t realize it but poor oral health can lead to significant heart and related health problems.
